NC's House District 85 is composed of Avery, McDowell, and Mitchell Counties.
Dudley Greene, Republican, was re-elected to this seat in 2022.

NC's Senate District 47 is composed of Alleghany. Ashe, Avery, Caldwell, Haywood, Madison, Mitchell, Watauga, and Yancey Counties.
Ralph E. Hise. Jr., Republican, was re-elected to this seat in 2022.
